Forest Figures: Workshop with Blueberry Academy

Inspired from the work in Queen Green, Artist and Curator Martha Cattell lead a workshop with the Blueberry Academy students creating fantastical hybrid figures.

Inspired from the work in Queen Green, Artist and Curator Martha Cattell lead a workshop with the Blueberry Academy students; the shapes and textures found in nature inspire the imaginary hybrid figures we see in Queen Green, inspired by the leaves, flowers, seeds and pods we found, the students at Blueberry Academy had a go at making their very own forest folk!

The workshop began with a scavenge around the Woodend grounds for pinecones, leaves and other bits of nature to use as reference points for their creations combined with collages made from scrap nature magazines.
