Natural paint creations & explorations with the Blueberry students
Natural paint creations & explorations with the Blueberry students
Our third gardening workshop with the blueberry students included harvesting abundance, drawing and using our crop to paint with home-made paints
The session began with detective work on what could have pulled up our radishes! We fixed up canes and beds that had been disturbed by our sneaky visitor, planted new seeds, and harvested our delicious treats. We appreciated the smells of all our herbs and cleaned up the poppies that are done for the season-saving seeds for future planting!
We then went back indoors when it started to rain to draw up some ‘radishing’ pictures and have a taste test of our fresh crop before lunch.
The afternoon consisted of creating paints from powders and water; vibrant turmeric yellows, algae greens, chocolate browns and raspberry pinks. The rooms was filled with the smells of all the different spices and aromas! We foraged plants to help us created a very long piece of art, experimenting with textures and patterns and letting our creativity flow!
What a day! Now with a short break to come we look forward to coming back to see how our old and new plants develop, grow and change.
